Brenda has a deep passion for the Irish spirit, The Galway City Oasis is based on this spirit of welcome, music, nature, calm & connection.
Welcome
At the heart of The Galway City Oasis is a passion for Irish culture, local heritage and the Irish spirit. Brenda's passion for the Ireland extends way back into her past through many different avenues, one being representing Ireland at international sport. She is a former Irish international hockey player. She has captained Ireland u18 and u21, and claimed senior international caps, such as playing versus masters of the game, Australia and USA. Another passion of Brenda's is nature and the Irish heritage, she enjoys exploring the vastness of beauty discovery this island offers everyone who walks its streets, hills, fields and shores.
In addition, Brenda has over 12 years experience as a holistic practitioner. The link between sport, nature and wellbeing has always been a core passion in her work. Her background includes studying physiotherapy and the meditative movement practice Qi Gong of Chinese Medicine. As the owner of ‘Elements Wellbeing’ and based in Galway City’s yoga studio, An Seomra Yoga, Brenda is a qualified Qi Gong teacher, flower essence therapist, Celtic practitioner and mindfulness therapist.
Another branch of bridging nature and wisdom is in the book she complied in 2017. She is the author of the book ‘Roots go Deep’, a compilation of over 150 athletes and wellness experts exploring the theme of the importance between wellbeing and playing sports.
The Galway City Oasis is home to a beautiful Petrof upright piano. As a music teacher, Brenda is delighted to share her passion of music with you! She welcomes you to enjoy playing a tune on the piano during your stay. This is a top of the range 88 key authentic newly stringed, unique open top piano. The piano is there to be enjoyed, along with many instruments. The Oasis piano & more will welcome you!
There is an 8 foot wall art mural to welcome you too! Brenda painted this out of inspiration from the Irish landscape and abundant nature the wildness of the Wild Atlantic Way offers every visitor.
Brenda pours her vast experience and passion for bridging the words of mindful creativity, wellbeing, music, nature inspired interior design and the Irish spirit, into the Irish filled sanctuary that is The Galway City Oasis!
